Aloe Design - Gwen Polivka

Gwen Polivka

Gwen’s love for plants emerged at an early age when she would stop during walks with her mother to smell every flower she saw. Years later, while earning her BA of Geography, Gwen interned at the Institute of Urban Ecology at Douglas College where she carried out a study at Colony Farms researching which plants best attracted beneficial insects. Imagination captured, she enrolled in Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Landscape Design and Installation program.

Gwen has experience working in landscape maintenance, hardscape supply, and as a lead garden designer for a local retail nursery chain. She also helped establish the Society Promoting Environmental Conservation’s roof top demonstration garden.

Gwen loves working with clients to create truly personal gardens that reflect the client’s aesthetic preferences and are in harmony with their surroundings. She enjoys showing clients beautiful ways of expressing themselves with colour, shape, and texture.
